A regional gathering of the Latin American nut producer cooperatives was held in Cobija – Bolivia this past 18-20 July 2008. Representatives from the following organisations were present: - COINACAPA Bolivia - ACERM Bolivia - CAIC Bolivia - CAPEB Brazil - RONAP Peru - DEL CAMPO Nicaragua The main purposed of the gathering, was to prepare for the Annual General Meeting of the INPC which will be held in Kerala, India in September and to initiate the election process of the new INPC Board. Other useful discussions around the role of the INPC Secretariat, a potential carbon offsetting pilot and the Nut Agency model also took place. Ellen Borges, from Rabobank Guarantee Fund attended the event and had meetings with the cooperatives and with local banks. _____ Una reunión regional de los productores de nueces de Centro y Sud America se llevó a cabo en Cobija – Bolivia entre el 18-20 de Julio. Representantes de las siguientes cooperativas estuvieron presentes: - COINACAPA Bolivia - ACERM Bolivia - CAIC Bolivia - CAPEB Brasil - RONAP Perú - DEL CAMPO Nicaragua El propósito principal de la reunión fue el de preparación para la Asamblea Anual General que se llevara acabo en Kerala, India en Septiembre de este año y para iniciar el proceso de elecciones futuro consejo. A la vez se dieron importantes discusiones sobre el rol del Secretariado, la posibilidad de un piloto sobre a venta de carbono, y el modelo de la Agencia comercializadora de nueces. Ellen Borges, de Rabobank Gurantee Fund estuvo presente y también se reunió con las cooperativas y con los bancos locales.
