Statement: update from Sopacdi, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)

The town of Minova and the surrounding areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo were subjected to four days of vandalism, looting and violence towards the end of November 2012. Members of Sopacdi, one of Twin’s producer partners in the region, were directly affected and the cooperative’s commercial operations were suspended. Thankfully, Sopacdi’s head offices and its coffee producing infrastructure were not damaged during these events and business resumed on 2 December 2012.
