Muungano is located in eastern DRC by Lake Kivu and was established in 2009 with 350 members. Today the cooperative has 2,300 members, including 1,200 women. They are producing washed Arabica and are investing in new infrastructure to drive quality improvements.
Projects
Twin is working with Muungano to build a central and a micro-washing station. The combined capacity of the stations is 115.2 MT which is equivalent to six containers of fully-washed coffee. We are also working with the cooperative to build a cupping laboratory.
